2007... the year that was...
Who could forget the January ice-storm, so close on the heels of what December had brought….
The Austree once again did not fare well…. |
Branches that came down took dog fencing with them... |
And if you could get down the driveway, backing onto the road was tricky at best. |
Even the crowd was cool with staying in!

Took 3 days to dig out of this one! And then….the next day…… |
More snow…..there’s actually a road under here somewhere, guess I’m not going anywhere! |
Back inside to curl up and snooze where you can... |

Onto March, which brought not only nicer weather, but also an extended trip from my brother, Daryt, and my sister-in-law, Mina.
Lots of fun gathering up yard waste to burn… |

On to April….which brought...puppies!
Java, proud mom to 2 boys and 5 girls. |
May was a busy month...puppies got their land legs…and had to be constantly supervised. A task happily taken on by Flurry.

“I think I’ve got ‘em all...” Until Tosca takes over outside... |
“Move along, now...” |
And in...“There’s always one that just doesn’t want to nap!” |

Her practicing pays off, with the Puppy Reserve Championship. |
Fun was had by all...
10 year old Roxy shows she’s still got it in the lure course class, taking third place... |
Beaten by Nimbus who won the division... |
And that upstart Tosca learned there’s more to a trial than looking pretty...first time lure coursing and she won the puppy division |
June brought puppy antics...

Nimbus didn’t let a little thing like branches... |
Keep her from trying for that bird! |
“Skrewt” was chosen to stay on... |
And I learned all about the challenges of trying to find a brown dog in the weeds! |

September brought relaxation…..

While Tosca cruises for grasshoppers. |
Nimbus, as usual, happy either way. |
Hawkins and Lisa come just in time... |
For the October mud season! |

November brings Thanksgiving guests... and after a night of visits and perusing through a vintage stamp collection...
Meeting of the minds of Lesli, Daryk, and Daryt... Everybody’s up for a walk in the woods! |
And even out in the wilderness... |
One just can’t resist the photo op! |
Another interesting place to walk the dogs... |
Not lost on Lilly, who’s trying for a calendar page of her own. |
Everyone left in the nick of time, a week later more ice!
Again, my poor hedges…amazing there’s even any branches left on them. |
“Okay, YOU might think this is funny...but this trek back from the barn is a slow go!” |
Followed by the first big snow of the season.
Which the young’uns thoroughly enjoyed! |
“Do you hear a plow?” |
“Your turn to make snow angels!” |
“I’ve got this rock climbing thing down!” |
Sometimes it’s not just the brown dogs that are hard to find... |
A quick glance and Nimbus can disappear, too! All in all... |

Which ended the year with a holiday photo shoot...
