Since 1985 I have been breeding these terrific little dogs. Jack Russells have incorporated every aspect of my life, my business, my playtime, and my artwork, and finer companions I could never imagine. However, all good things must come to an end, and my breeding program has finally exhausted itself. I will continue to breed my Border Terriers, but will enjoy my retired Jack Russells without producing any more. Come and enjoy some past history with me by viewing a slide show....
It's been a tough year for the kennels of Prestige Farms... losing Scarlett a year ago was overwhelming; but then to have to say goodbye to the Pollywog... well, another devastating blow.
It's so hard for me to write two obituaries in one year, on my two favourite dogs; dogs that every day I realize how lucky I was to have had them in my life. Pollywog was my first home-bred champion, a daughter of the famed Scarlett and Flurry. A constant travel dog, she flew all over the country with me, even went with me to have one of my headshots done in Chicago! She carried herself with the air of knowing that she always "belonged" anyplace we were (it was, after all, always "all about Polly"), and didn't think anything of leaving any social activities of the moment to take care of any quarry problem. Not just a beauty pageant contestant, she was just at home racing, lure-coursing, doing the go-to-ground competition... even went to the Memorial Day Trial in St. Louis just a few weeks before her kidneys failed. I miss her, and miss her, and miss her... and I will forever. Now some photos of The Pollywoggles, The Wiry One, The Wog, The Woglet, The Wee Wiry One... Prestige Farms Pollywog.(click to view)
Another end of an era, on the 25th of August I lost my most beloved Scarlett O’Hara, without question the best dog I have ever met, much less had the privilege of sharing my life with. I miss her constantly, no area of my life has not been touched by the many years we had together. She travelled all over the country with me, dog shows, horse shows, model horse events...not just as a companion to me, but also as a competitor as well. She raced on TV in the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge when she was eleven years old! Everyone that knows me well also knew this feisty little terrier. A look back now on the life of Scarlett, also known as: Scarla-pod, The Pod, Scarla-roo, The Roo, the Pooter-roo, the Poots, Das Poots, Das Roo... and of course, Prestige Farms Scarlet O’Hara. Can you judge how well loved one is by the number of endearing nick-names one has been bestowed with? Please take a moment to view some much loved photos of Scarlett...
